I think observing classes is my favorite thing thus far. Last Saturday I went to observe the "gentle" class which was completely different than any other yoga class I have ever seen or taken. When I observed my first class, it was a level 1-2 and I had done most if not all of the postures at some point in time. With the gentle class on Saturday I had done most of the postures, but how they were taught were interesting.
Let me explain that a little more. For Warrior I and Warrior II they were both taught on the wall with the front foot's toes against the baseboard and people using the wall for whatever support they needed. There was also a forward fold taught with the wall where the student put their feet about a foot from the wall, and sort of sat on the wall. Then they would slowly bend forward supporting themselves with their elbows on their knees or fully fold forward.
It was really interesting and I'm getting more excited about all of this!
